From Painting To Print

Art Reproduction → Giclée Print → Archival Frame or Passepartout

Color accurate & archival limited edition prints of your traditional paintings with prints that can last a century. Give your art collectors a new way to experience your work and reach a wider audience. Send in your paintings and we’ll do the rest.

Step One:
Art Reproduction

Send in your painting to our studio

Send in your artworks for photography and color matching, get accurate reproductions of tones, colors, textures, and gold leaf appearance. Let us know what size you want your works reproduced, what your end product would be, and we’ll handle the rest.

For artworks that can’t be pulled out, i.e. in museums or abroad. let us know, so we can provide a solution.

Photography setup

The tools and methods used in the photoshoot ensures your artwork’s colors, tones, and textures are well represented in the final photograph. This will also eliminate unwanted shadows and glares usually seen with glass or deep frames.

See your works without glare

Say bye-bye to glare. By cross polarizing our lights we get 99% glare-free images of your artworks.

Color match paintings to prints.

When documenting or scanning for giclée printing, we do test prints to see the final output and adjust any colors to make sure it matches the original artworks.

Step Two:
Giclée Prints

Choose your fine art paper

After sending in your painting for photography and color matching, we’ll update you with possible sample layouts, economical print sizes, and present what papers we recommend would best suite.

Giclée, a print process using pigment based archival inks on archival paper. The quality of a giclée print shows an extensive range of colors, smooth gradients. Prints made this way can last up to a century.

Hahnemühle FineArt InkJet Paper is our choice of substrate. Hahnemühle is a paper manufacturer founded in 1584 which developed the first acid free machine-made paper back in 1970. Their papers meet the highest standards for fine art applications and are perfect for long-term exhibitions and art collections, with a high age resistance of over 100 years.

We have several papers available with varying textures and finishes.

The papers we offer are from the higher end of Hahnemühle’s fine art collection so picking which one to use mainly becomes a choice of finish and or texture.

We can recommend which to use, just let us know :)

Photo Rag Matte (308 gsm, cotton), our most versatile paper suitable for most images due to its gentle fine grain texture and bright white color.

Bamboo (290 gsm, bamboo blend) has a slightly warmer color and displays a soft sand-like texture which works well with big prints. Not recommended for swatches of pure blacks.

Photo Rag Satin (310gsm, cotton) shares the soft matte look of Photo Rag but reveals a gentle satin sheen when viewed in the right light. Perfect all-around paper.

William Turner (310gsm, cotton) has a rough and grainy texture used to emulate the feel of traditional papers.

Torchon (285 gsm, α-Cellulose
) water ripple-like texture which is great for more highkey images.

Special Papers

Choose from our selection of more distinct papers. Give your clients a different experience.

Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic
(340 gsm, cotton) All the characteristics of Photo Rag Matte but with a metallic gloss to all the mid-tones and highlights.

Awagami Handmade Papers
Bizan (300 gsm) & Shiramine (260 gsm) These Kozo made papers come in sheet sizes, 4×6” postcard and 13×19”. They can be torn to size. These are perfect for float mount borderless prints. This paper is all about character and nuance.

Awagami Unryu (55 gsm, Kozo) one of our more sophisticated papers, featuring a distinctive heavy fibrous texture that plays well with line work and high-key or solid color images. Its unique swirling fibers also benefit minimalistic art.

Step Three:
Frame, Passepartout, or Loose Print

Package your prints for presentation

You’re almost done! First, take the time to sign and number your prints. Next, decide how you want to present and distribute your artwork. You can go with loose prints (either shipped flat or carefully rolled), or you can elevate the presentation by adding window mats (passe-partout) or archival framing.
