Awagami Shiramine Postcard

  • Matte, light texture, 4 deckled edges

  • 260 gsm

  • Kozo (mulberry), Hemp mix

  • Size: 4x6 inches

Awagami Shiramine is the smallest of the handmade paper series that we offer. This has a striking look despite its small size. Perfect for those looking for more organic quality for their prints. The 4 deckled edges may appear more pronounced than the Bizan due to its postcard size.

Shiramine has a subtle variety of textures from a touch of roughness in places, feathering edges, to fibre inclusions that give a different sheen as the light plays with the print.

Shiramine is not as tack sharp of a print compared to Hahnemühle Photo Rag due to its varying thickness.

Awagami Bizan, White

  • Matte, light texture, 4 deckled edges

  • 300 gsm

  • Kozo (mulberry), Hemp mix

  • Sizes: A3+, A2, A1

Bizan is one of the prized collections from Awagami’s selection of papers. Each sheet is meticulously crafted by their master papermakers. The beautiful thickness, various textures, and vivid color reproduction really shows their dedication to the craft.

100% handmade, each paper gets its unique texture and 4 deckle edges — a beautiful contrast to the machine produced materials we’re accustomed to working with.

Awagami Bizan and Shiramine papers feature four natural deckle edges created using the traditional Tamezuki mould-making process. This method results in subtle surface variations that reflect the handmade nature of each sheet. A fitting choice when a refined, tactile quality is preferred.

Make your works stand out by adding 3-dimensionality to your artworks with float framing. The 3-10mm of separation between the paper and the backing creates a dynamic cast shadow giving your artworks the full borderless experience.
